Who Was Helen Beatrix Potter?
Beatrix Potter whose actual first name was Helen, was an British writer and illustrator who was best known with regard to her kid's publications featuring anthropomorphic characters like in the actual children's classic - The Tale of Peter Rabbit.
Beatrix was born into a functional honored household where she was educated by vey strict private teachers and for that reason grew up isolated from other kids. She previously had quite a few pets and spent holidays in Scotland as well as the Lake District where she developed a fondness of the landscape, flora and fauna, all of which she carefully viewed and painted. Beatrix's parents didn't ecourage her intellectual improvement as a youthful lady, but her study as well as paintings of fungus led to her being widely well known within the field of mycology.
In her thirties, Beatrix Potter released the hugely successful kid's book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Around that time she became secretly engaged to her publisher Norman Warne. This brought on a rift with her parents, who disapproved of Beatrix getting married to someone of lower social status. Sadly however, Warne passed on before the wedding.
Eventually Beatrix Potter began publishing and also illustrating children's books full time. While using cash from her books, she became economically independent of her mother and father and was eventually able to buy Hill Top Farm in the Lake District. She fully extended the property with various other purchases over time. In her forties, she wedded William Heelis, a neighborhood solicitor. She ended up becoming a sheep breeder and farmer while continuing to publish and also illustrate books for children. In total she released twenty-three children's books.
Beatrix passed on on 22nd December 1943, and left almost all of her possessions to the National Trust. Her publications continue to sell well around the world, in numerous languages. Her tales have been retold in several formats including a ballet, films, and in animation.
Such is her global recognition, and also that of the characters from her books, that many Beatrix Potter figurines were created. These Beatrix Potter figurines which include most the characters in her books are getting to be extremely collectable and valuable.
