After I made my list I hung this list up on my bathroom mirror and also on my bedroom door. I wanted everyday to see my reasons for changing my behavior this helped considerably since quitting smoking is a decision one has to make day by day. Whenever you stop smoking you have to foresee there will be times when you will slip but in the times past that I backslid, I just accepted failure and started smoking full steam ahead. This time if I slipped and bought a pack of cigarettes or smoked one I begged from a friend I allowed myself forgiveness for not being perfect and started right back up.
Whenever I saw the scales go up I made sure to go to the gym more and not to replace eating with smoking. I also rewarded myself by pampering myself with a little something I normally would not do for myself. If I pay attention to careful smoking control my cigarette use always goes down. I can not say that I do not think about smoking from time to time and most likely always will but I also prompt myself that what you save is both health and money. Your clothes do not smell like smoke your hair does not reek of smoke and you can taste the food you eat. You can also put the hard cash you would have used for buying smokes into a saving account and watch it grow.
